Today is day five of stims, day five of giving myself two shots a day in my stomach. You would think that this would become routine and easier…it hasn’t. My poor stomach has started to become extremely sore and hard. My night time shot is a walk in the park, super easy and fast. My morning shot is a whole different story, after ice, a couple deep breaths, and few four letter words, I’m finally able to get it done. The good news is that the stims are working and my eggs are growing, the bad news is that I have a ton of eggs growing which puts me at risk for OHSS. OHSS is painful and it would mean that we would have to freeze our embryos and do a frozen transfer once I heal. I know that’s best for my body however, it’s not something I want to do!
We’ve got a few more days left of doing stims and then we will have our egg retrieval! I’m excited to be half way done with this process however I know that we still have a long road ahead of us with retrieval and transfer. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed to be able to do a fresh transfer and be PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise) by the end of the month!
