a little trip to hood river

This weekend we drove up to Hood River with our friends for the day + had so much fun eating + drinking all the things while our little ones played.

On our way home we stopped at Sugarpine, the C U T E S T little drive-in right on the banks of the Sandy River. I had seen so many people posting about this little place the past few weeks + had to check it out.

Carter was thrilled to have her very own first ice cream cone with sprinkles + mamas were happy to sip on some frozé.

If you’re ever in the Gorge you have to check this adorable little place out!

baby k’tan active carrier

When Carter was little we wore her to keep her close + soak in the baby snuggles. Now we wear her to keep her from screaming her head off in the stroller because she wants down to crawl.

Currently we’re loving the Baby K’tan Baby Carrier! It’s breathable mesh material makes hiking, walking, working out + exploring during the pnw summer so much easier. The material also blocks 90% of UVA + UVB rays which is so important when wearing a little delicate babe.

A huge plus of the baby k’tan is that it’s a wrap style carrier without having to do all of the complicated cross here, tie here, wrap there.

We’ll be wearing Carter until she can tell us no thank you moms I’d rather walk, so like for a few more years!

All parents should consult the Baby K’tan website and/or their Baby K’tan Baby Carrier instruction manual before first use to ensure a safe and happy experience. Consult the Baby K’tan FAQ’s for additional tips and support.

carters first birthday

The days leading up to Carters birthday were busy so we didn't have much time to stop and think about the fact that we were soon going to have a ONE year old! We decided for her first birthday we would have a party in California to celebrate.

When we were planning the party the first thing we established was that we wanted to hire vendors so that the decor, cake + food was taken care of. We were flying in from Disneyland the night before and really wouldn't have any time to put things together.

The theme that we went with was Carters Pink Paradise. When we took her to Hawaii for the first time she played her little heart out at the beach all day long, ate too much shave ice + really just fell in love with the island life so when choosing a theme we knew it had to be some kind of paradise party!

We filled the house with Hawaiian food from L &L Hawaiian BBQ, sweets from Paper Heart Patisserie, florals by Mignon Floral Co., signs by David and Leanna, enamel pins from Ways and Means/Studio Mega and topped it all off with shave ice from Kona.

Carter swam most of the day with family, ate some yummy food + then dug into her cake. She was a happy girl until it was nap time! We loved every part of the day + was so happy to celebrate our happy little bug with family + friends.
